In 2017, the inaugural Cook-Off for the Coast raised awareness of coastal restoration efforts and more than $4,400, which was granted to St. Bernard Wetlands Foundation in support of tree plantings to help reduce impacts from storm surge and flooding, as well as improve water quality and create habitat for fish and wildlife. Cook-Off attendees and Restore the Mississippi River Delta staff planted cypress trees provided by the St. Bernard Wetlands Foundation in the Caernarvon area in 2018.
